Gloria Ann LaRiviere Carolan, Born January 8, 1927 to Jesse and Fred LaRiviere in Springfield, Massachusetts, died peacefully on October 1, 2018. She is predeceased by her husband of 64 years William Carolan. She was mother to 10 children: Douglas, Cynthia, Theresa, Valerie, Cathleen, William, Jeffrey, Michael, John, and David. She was Grandmother to 15 and Great Grandmother to 10.
Gloria worked in Wiesbaden Germany shortly after World War II ended where she met and married her husband, a Navigator in the Army Air Corps. She and her husband spent the next 22 years in the US Air Force traveling extensively throughout Europe and the United States. She was a devout Catholic; her faith being her pillar in life. Gloria’s greatest joys in life were her family, games of bridge with her friends, and bingo. She also had a passion for cooking and baking which were favorite joys of all her family and friends. Gloria was a ray of sunshine to all those who had the good fortune of being a part of her life. Known for her generous, kind and loving nature, she instilled in her children the virtues of kindness, patience, generosity, love, forgiveness, and leaving the past behind. For this they will be forever grateful.
Gloria will return to Massachusetts where her funeral will be held at a later date.
A Celebration of Life will take place at the Palm Bay Senior Center, Palm Bay, Florida on October 3, 2018 at 12:00 pm
