Ellie Virginia Grest, 88, left this earth to join her beloved John on March 13, 2017 after succumbing to a long illness.

Ellie, fondly known as Mom, or MomMom, to her family, spent her working years as a hairdresser and enjoyed making others look and feel beautiful. She always said it takes more work to frown than to smile. Her warmth was contagious.

Born in Virginia and raised in Kentucky, Ellie lived and traveled to many places before settling in Miami, Florida where she and John raised a family. They moved to Palm Bay in 1985.

Ellie lived life to its fullest. She enjoyed traveling the world, dancing the Polka, and spending time with family. She was a worthy matron of Eastern Star, Daylight Chapter 206 OES, Miami, Florida, and belonged to the Greater Palm Bay Women's Club and Palm Bay Christian Church.

Her memory will leave an imprint of love on our hearts for all of time.

Ellie was the youngest of 8, all predeceased. She is survived by her children, Benjamin Grest, Steve Grest, Patty Speranza, and Billy Grest, her 8 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10:00am to 11:00 am on Saturday March 18th with a funeral service to follow at 11:00am.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Brevard Alzheimer?s Association.
