Denny Wambsgans, 80, passed away April 21 from complications from open heart surgery. He was born and raised in Biloxi,MS. After living in the Baton Rouge area for almost 40 years, he moved to Melbourne, FL. in November 2016.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Polly and sons; Paul, Chad and Eric; grandchildren, Dustin, Shelby, Tayler, Kendal, Avery, Christopher, Maddie, and Emma as well as beloved nieces and nephews.

Denny, served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Forrestal. He worked for several airlines and retired from Pan Am in 1991. Denny opened daiquiri shops in Louisiana before retiring a second time. He was a kind and generous man and spent many volunteer hours at local churches and other organizations. He and Polly received the 2011 David Hamilton Award from Baton Rouge Catholic Charities. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus third and fourth degrees. He was an avid LSU fan enjoying every sport.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on May 2nd at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Melbourne. Interment will be in Biloxi, MS. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity.
