Doris was one of three daughters born to Albert and Edna Gebhard. Doris moved to Miami, FL in 1943 and graduated from Miami High School in 1944.

She married in 1946 and had a happy fulfilling marriage for 49 years with her husband Ed. She worked for the Dade Co. School System for 27 years, mostly in the library at Blue Lakes Elementary and Riviera Middle School. She graduated Phi Theta Kappa from Miami Dade Jr. College and continued her studies in horticultural. She was a member of the Eastern Star both in Miami and Palm Bay and Daughters of the Nile. Doris was a member of Central Baptist Church.

Doris was an exquisite seamstress and baker, but most of all she was a loving wife, mother, and nana who always put her family first.

She is survived by her daughter Barbara Houghton (Lucius Craig) of Greenville, SC and granddaughter Emily Ann Zubiria of Miami, sister-in-law Grace Brown of Miami and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin C. Keen and son, Donald A. Keen.
