On June 6th , all too soon, we lost Derek Phillips loving husband, father, and friend. Derek was a doting father to his two precious girls Natalie and Ellie, a kind and compassionate friend and brother, and the most attentive and loving husband to his wife Kelsey Phillips. While always impressing others with his talents in the kitchen (especially his gourmet surf and turf dishes), most of all Derek loved to make special pancake breakfasts for 'His Girls'. The continual jokester, Derek's silly jingles for Ellie and Natalie as well as the ?water cooler? jokes with his friends and co-workers will be forever fondly remembered.
Always loving and caring, Derek's wealth on earth was not measured in dollars and cents, but in the amount of love and adoration given by all who knew him. In Derek?s last days, he spent many happy days with his wife and daughters playing games and planning an exciting family vacation. He knew how loved he was by each person in his life.
Derek Phillips is survived by his wife Kelsey Phillips, his daughters Ellie Grace Phillips and Natalie Esme Bassile, his brother Richard Phillips, and his grandmother Joan Van Deventer. He is preceded in death by his father Richard Phillips and his mother Susan Van Deventer Phillips.

The family would like to extend the invitation for all who knew Derek to join in a celebration of his life on Monday June 19, 2017.
