Joachim Rudolf Clayton, 62, passed away unexpectedly July 28, 2017. He was born in Idar Oberstein, Germany on August 13, 1954. Rudy is survived by his partner, Marilyn Ratliff, his son, David Clayton, his sister, Susie Allen, his step daughter Ginny Snyder, and his niece, Heather Allen.

Rudy graduated from Nuremberg, Germany High School, Gadsden State Junior College, and Brevard Community College. He had a passion for taking pictures that started as a teenager and continued throughout his life. Rudy especially loved to take candid shots of friends and family without them knowing. He was also a talented artist, drawing characters from comic strips such as Charlie Brown and Beetle Bailey. He would frame the drawings to give them to family and friends to put a smile on our faces. He also loved playing solitaire on the computer and never met a dog that he didn't like and want to bring home.

Rudy was a simple man that enjoyed life's small pleasures such as a great home cooked meal, a good movie, and spending time with loved ones. He had a laugh that was larger than any room he was in and it was infectious.

Services will be at Brownlie-Maxwell Funeral Home in Melbourne, Florida on Tuesday, August 8, 2017, at 7 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to South Brevard German Shepherd Rescue, 1981 Mattison Drive NE, Palm Bay, FL 32905.
