Joseph Pappelardo, Jr., 85, passed away on Friday, August 18, 2017 at his home in Melbourne Beach, surrounded by his family and friends.
Joseph was born in his grandparents home at 14 Rodrick Ave., E. Longmeadow, MA, January 13, 1932 to Joseph, Sr. and Helen (Mawaka) Pappelardo. He graduated 1951 from Carmelite Junior Seminary, Hamilton, MA and immediately joined the U.S. Navy/Air Force as structural mechanic, repairing airplanes 1951-1955 during the Korean War. On his return, Joe started Pappelardo Fence Co., Inc. which is still in business 62 years later. Active at church and in societies, his favorite past times were hunting, fishing, playing hockey with Oldtimers Over 30 Hockey League & spending time with his family and friends. Joe retired 1987 to Melbourne Beach, and spent most days fishing at Sebastian Inlet State Park, preferably for Snook.

In addition to wife, Peg, he is survived by best friend, Corinne Pappelardo; three sons, Paul, Rick and Scott Pappelardo; three daughters, Lynn (Brian) Booth, Luanna Martin Santaniello, and Ann-Marie (Tony) Commisso; sisters, Joan (Paul) Bobrowicz and Frances (Norman) Sorrell; grandchildren, Chris Martin, Angela Martin, Amie (Cory) Abby, Kelly Booth, Nico Santaniello, Sara Pappelardo, Anna Pappelardo, Chelsea Pappelardo, Dominic Pappelardo, Joey Santaniello, Kyle Booth, Antonio Commisso and Oliver Pappelardo; greatgrandchildren, Mia Martin, Louie Martin, Jade Pappelardo, C.J. Martin and Jasmin Pappelardo; niece, Frances (Ed) Slusars; nephews, Perry (Andrea) and Mike Pappelardo. Parents and brother, Robert J. Pappelardo, predeceased him.

A memorial service at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church is on Wednesday, August 30, at 11 am, with refreshments to follow in the church hall. Contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Church in his name.
