Pauline Fletcher Cogdill, 89, formerly of Live Oak, Florida, passed away on July 22, 2026, in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Born on February 14, 1938, in Warfield, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late C.W. Fletcher and Sadie Fletcher. Though Live Oak was her home for much of her life, she spent her final years in Melbourne Village.
Pauline had a rare gift for turning even the most dull or difficult moments into something fun and memorable. Witty, kind, and quick to laugh, she was a natural storyteller with an endless supply of tales gathered from a lifetime of adventure and travel. Her favorite place was anywhere with family. Whether on a grand adventure or gathered around the table, her humor and warmth made every moment together that much better.
A lifelong learner, Pauline fulfilled a longtime goal when she earned her college degree at the age of 47 from the University of South Carolina. She dedicated more than 40 years of her career to the Live Oak Farmers Cooperative. A woman of faith and community spirit, she was an active member of Westwood Baptist Church and a devoted, longtime supporter of the Suwannee County Friends of the Library.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald Cogdill (November 5, 1937 – September 24, 2022); her parents, C.W. and Sadie Fletcher; and her siblings Priscilla Fletcher, Paul Fletcher, Lundy Fletcher, Homer Fletcher, Noah Fletcher, John Fletcher, Opal Borghese, Bill Fletcher, and Ruth Ann Stafford. She is survived by her three daughters, Kim Zarillo, Katrina Bius, and Paula Walker; her grandchildren, Jessica Davis (Steve), Matthew Bius (Tori), Alicia Frascati (Brandan), and David Bius (Nichole); her great-grandchildren, Maggie Davis (Meghan), Liam Bius, Brycen Bius, Elliot Frascati, Tinleigh Bius, Ebba Bius, Brantley Bius, and Harper Bius; and her great-great-granddaughter, Mia Davis Schrack. She is also survived by her siblings, Joseph Fletcher and Raymond Fletcher, along with many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
A celebration of life will be held in Live Oak this fall; details will be announced by the family at a later date.
