BJ Talbert, 85 completed his earthly journey on Monday July 3, 2023, at home surrounded by family.

His service will be held Saturday July 15, 2023, at 1:00 pm at Brownlie-Maxwell Funeral Home in Melbourne, Florida, officiated by Pastor Elmer Floyd. Following the ceremony, there will be a Celebration of Life held at Cameron Ranch, 3890 Atlantic Ridge Lane, Grant, Florida, 32949. There will be food and drinks. Please dress casual and comfortable for this.

BJ is survived by wife Nancy; three sons Terry Talbert (Penny), Tony Talbert, Bobby Talbert (Trish), one daughter Candi Talbert Pierson (Michael), one “special” son Gary Cameron (Cheri), and one “special” daughter Kelly Peeler Hurley (Paul); five grandsons Travis Talbert, Jayson Talbert, and Cody (Codeman) Pierson, Rocco and Jake; two granddaughters Chanin Pierson Fisher (Jesse) and Civannah Pierson. 2 “special” grandsons Chad Cameron (Vanessa), Jake Cameron (Makala); three great grand babies Harper Talbert, Brynlee Talbert, and Maverick Fisher.

BJ was born in Stanley County, North Carolina on June 24, 1938, to the late Broadus & Mary Talbert. The baby of six siblings, he was a Christian man with Christian values, a member of the Scottish Rite Free Masons 32nd degree and Past President of the Palm Bay, Florida Junior Jaycees where he worked in conjunction with the Special Olympics.

He was a retired ironworker out of Local 402 and a highly respected tradesperson in the construction industry. Nothing he couldn’t fix, never a man born that loved his children more.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association on his behalf.
