In Loving Memory of Dr. Richard “Dick” Enstice
Richard “Dick” Enstice, beloved spouse, father, step-father, grandfather, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2026 at the age of 81.
Dick lived a meaningful life filled with dedication to education, memorable accomplishments, and his love for outdoors. He was proud of his time beginning in 1966 as a transfer student at Florida Institute of Technology, earning his BS, MS, and PhD. He became a faculty member, Vice President of Academic Affairs, and Provost during his time at Florida Tech before retiring around 2006 and then was named a faculty emeritus.
Dick will be deeply missed by his wife, Stephanie, his children, Glen (Kristi) Enstice, Susan Enstice, and Sandra (Jason) Johns, his step-children, Anya (Col Anthony) Freude and Nicholas (Melissa) Evancho, along with his 15 grandchildren and many loving friends.
Visitation will be August 22, 2026 from 12:00pm – 1:00pm at Brownlie-Maxwell Funeral Home, 1010 Palmetto Ave, Melbourne, FL 32901 followed by a memorial service at 1:00pm.
Dick will always be remembered for the many stories he shared with others and his kindness to those who loved him. He will remain forever in our hearts. May his memory be Eternal!
Dear Stephanie and family, Dick will be profoundly missed. I cherish our conversations— those chats right after he grabbed his coffee first in line. When I first came to our parish, Dick and Stephanie made me feel so welcomed. My last memory of Dick is him standing right on cue when Stephanie gave him that gentle nudge during the service. It brings a smile to my face. May his memory be eternal. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Such a truly wonderful man, and I deeply cherished each and every conversation he and I shared. His excitement in retelling memories was contagious, and I held onto very word. Thoughts are with Stephanie and the family.

So sorry that I am out of town and will not be able to attend. Dick was a great friend to me during my time at the university..... We had very memorable occasions. And he was a great director he was a great advisor he imploded people to do what they were capable of doing. We have not seen each other in many years after he left the university, but he was a memory to me. A great memory every time I walked through that parking lot

I knew Dr. Enstice as my friend's husband. For many years I saw him every Sunday at church. We said hello and that was about all, but he was a part of my Sunday, a part of an important part of my life. When I would pray for the folks at church, my friend and her husband were a part of my prayers. I am going to miss him.

Dick shared a love of old Florida and had many interesting stories that we will always remember.
