Guy Eugene Ray
Guy Eugene Ray was born on February 23, 1934 in Crocker, MO. He Departed on November 11, 2021 in Palm Bay, FL. He was born to Everret Ray and Viola Lea Ray (Carver) and was one of 9 children. Living are Charlotte Stewart (Jim) and Shirley Welbourne (Don). Those who passed are Lorraine, Everret Junior, Helen, Delores, Margie, and Lawrence. He was married in 1955 to Betty Bohannon for 37 years until she passed. They had three daughters, Debra Smith (Robert), Juanita Ray (deceased) and Patricia Dunn (Tom), six grandchildren Angel, Guy, Pamela, John, Daniel, Tyler and 11 great-grandchildren.
Guy started working when was 15. He joined the United States Air Force in 1951 and served proudly for 20 years. He was an airplane mechanic on the fighter jets in the 1950’s to early 1960’s. He was selected to go to school for flight engineer school for newly developed C-141 which he continued to do until he retired. He was in the Korean and Vietnam War. He then worked for 20 years at Patrick AFB and retired as the Civilian Supervisor of the flight line.
Guy was a big family man. His family retired here to be with Betty’s family. He is so beloved by all his children and grandchildren. His favorite hobby was fresh and saltwater fishing. He taught his girls and many grandchildren to enjoy it too.
Caliing hour will be held at the Brownlie – Maxwell Funeral Home on Friday November 19 from 1pm to 2pm followed by a Service at 2 pm.
