José R. Rosario-Muñoz

Born in San Lorenzo Puerto Rico on January 23, 1940
Passed on October 12, 2025 in Melbourne, Florida

José R. Rosario-Muñoz was born in San Lorenzo Puerto Rico on January 23rd, 1940. He was the third and middle child of Emiliano Rosario and Anicasia Muñoz. As a young man he moved to New York and it was there where he met his future bride Magali Llantin-Moreno. Ramón and Magie married in 1961 and have been together ever since. Together they had three daughters, Jeannette, Judith, and Jo-Ann. José and Magali returned to Puerto Rico where they raised their children. In 2007, they moved to Melbourne, Florida to be near their daughters and grandchildren Bryan and Joshua Flores-Rosario.

José Ramón was a hard worker, humble man, always devoted to his family. A quiet guy, a great friend, and always ready to lend a hand to those in need. José loved to be surrounded by nature, visit the outdoors, go to the beach or a walk in the woods, and listen to the sounds of birds.. He loved to sing, dance, paint, and create beautiful wood crafts. He was an artisan in Old San Juan, he was a postal worker at the Empire State Building, he worked for Kodak in NY.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness. We will miss him dearly.

Sad to hear that your amazing family has had to say that final farewell to such a sweet soul. I know you will all miss him and will, also, find comfort in the wonderful memories and times you have spent together! You guys are a testament to his time on earth! Dr. Jo, I did not know your Dad was an artisan in Old San Juan (very cool and makes since), nor that he worked in the Empire State Building (imagine the stories he could tell about that).... and how special that he had ties to the company that brought us life in color ("Kodachrome.... they give us those nice bright colors...", Paul Simon lyrics). He brought life in color to so many and I have seen that in all of you guys! Your Dad leaves quite a legacy, indeed! Love and hugs to you all, Pamela and David
