Sharon Meehan
Our beloved mother, grandmother, and aunt, Sharon Ann Meehan, née McFadden, born September 17, 1937, passed away on Friday, January 19, 2024 in Melbourne, Florida after a valiant journey with dementia.
Sharon led a full life starting in upstate New York, graduated from Narimasu High School in Tokyo Japan, and lived out her life on the East Coast of Florida and in Raleigh raising her two children and providing unending love and care to her three granddaughters.
A lover of the outdoors and adventures, she air-boated, rode horses, whitewater rafted down the Amazon River and hot air ballooned over the Serengeti. She completed two different Outward-Bound courses and ran a host of 5k’s. She was always on the move.
Before she started a family, she worked at GE at Cape Canaveral. She spent decades at Meehan Stationery, then BB&T Bank in Raleigh. She returned to Florida, where she served as office assistant at St. Mark’s Episcopal Academy.
Once retired, she served on the board of her HoA and volunteered. She gave herself to not only her family, but to her community.
We find comfort knowing she is reunited with her father Clifford E. McFadden, mother Viva Johnson, sister Margo Boyette and too many dogs to count.
Sharon is survived by her son, Kenneth G. Meehan, wife Darlene, granddaughters Ashely Paul and husband Joseph, and Hadley Meehan. Daughter Kimberly Meehan Agee, granddaughter Blair Agee, and niece Traci Bruner.
We invite friends and relatives to join us in celebrating her life at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 50 West Strawbridge Avenue, Melbourne, FL 32901 on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 11am. May she rest in eternal peace.
