Jody Suzanne Shaffer Mitchell passed away February 20, 2025 after a long illness. She was born on June 9, 1969 in Huntington, West Virginia to Larry Wayne and Betty C. Moore Shaffer. She graduated from Huntington East High School.


She is survived by her husband Charlie Mitchell; mother Betty Shaffer; daughter Megan Hanley; son Zachary Hanley and daughter Aniyah; granddaughters Melody and Lilly. She is also survived by her sister Angela Smith; nieces Kailee and Madison; nephews Jarrett (Magen), Seth (Jamie); cousin Bobby Shaffer; mother-in-law Cherry Mitchell and brothers-in-law Solomon Mitchell and Morris Mitchell (Denisha).

Jody was preceded in death by her father Larry Shaffer; sister Tamela Gibson; cousins Robin, Leigh Anne and Scott.

She had a kind soul and will be missed by many. She loved the beach, animals and is a daddy’s girl.
