Beverly Ann Leone
Departed on January 17, 2022 in Melbourne, Florida
Beverly Ann Leone, A.K.A: Mimi, unexpectedly and peacefully passed away Monday morning January 17th, in her home, at the age of 66. She was born on December 17th, 1955 in Charleston, West Virginia. She graduated from Sissonville High School, at the age of 24 she moved with her daughter Nichole to Florida to be close to her family, that relocated to Melbourne area in 1978. She later married her husband of 26 years, Michael Leone.
She is survived by her husband, Michael, parents, Robert and Barbara Harpold, three brothers, David Harpold, Glenn Harpold, and Mark Harpold, her sister Kathy Whiting, her two children, Nichole D’Arco and Matthew Ockwell, daughter in law Julia Ockwell and two grandchildren, Isabell Ockwell and another on the way along with many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
Beverly loved Jesus and would often sing to him when she couldn’t sleep. Having accepted Christ early in life, Beverly was raised Baptist and never let go of her faith. During her 42 years in Melbourne, Beverly served at Bethany Baptist, Eau Gallie First Baptist and Calvary Chapel, Melbourne. Beverly loved people and always chose professions that allowed her to talk to others and share her faith. She has been a nail technician, owned Executive Answering Service and was a licensed realtor.
Beverly was always up for an adventure and loved cruises and traveling. Whether a vacation or mission trip, her travels took her to Japan, Thailand, Ecuador, Europe, Mexico, Israel, Canada, Nassau, Bahamas, Free Port, most Caribbean Islands and Alaska. When unable to travel, she spent time walking on the beach and admiring the ocean.
Beverly loved her husband, children, granddaughter, dogs Luci and Dexter, and all others unconditionally never meeting a stranger and talking to everyone. She was a peacemaker, filled with love, joy and sparkle. Small in stature with a larger-than-life personality, she made sure that others joined in her daily adventures which may have been a garage sale where she could negotiate to win a good deal. Regardless of what the adventure was, all would get a giggle and walk away a little happier because she was in their day.
Beverly was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 2011 but did not let that define her as she masked her pain with her smile and sense of humor. Always with a heart for others, she donated her organs to science and her eyes to help someone else see. Beverly’s life may have been cut short, but her contagious smile, positive attitude, and her love to help strangers touched the hearts of all the people she met through her life. There are few places she has been to that don’t hold a tender memory of her.
Arrangements are being made through Brownlie Maxwell Funeral Home in Melbourne. Her service will be held at the Viera Calvary Church Melbourne campus located at 2852 Fellowship Place, Viera, FL 32940 on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 12:30 pm with a Celebration of Life fellowship immediately following.
