David Wayne Cotton

David Wayne Cotton, 49, of Melbourne passed away June 9th, 2020. He was born In Fairbanks, Alaska but called Florida home when his parents relocated to Palm Bay in 1979.
He worked for many years as a musician for a Christian ministry and produced Christian music videos for local churches in Tennessee and Kentucky. He was CO-Host of the Mid-West television show of Nashville, TN and TRI-State. He used his friendly personality to develop accounts as Market Director. He was CO-Host of the weekly radio broadcast GOSPEL UNLIMITED of Nashville, TN. David’s gifts allowed him to play drums throughout TN and Southern KY churches. He could play piano, keyboard and was also a skilled guitarist. Through his work, he was able to meet his favorite group, The Canton Spirituals.
Holding steadfast to his favorite scriptures:
Psalm 27:14 “Wait on the LORD; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the LORD!”
Isaiah 40:31 “But they that wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
He enjoyed helping others and loved growing plants and vegetables.
Survivors include his Mother Jane McGowan, his four brothers, two sisters, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his Father, Norman J. Cotton.
David will be missed by all his family and friends in Florida, Tennessee, and Kentucky. He will be remembered as a kind, gentle soul, dearly loved in all our hearts.
We release him to our most loving God, knowing he is experiencing the peace, the truth, the way and the light.
A private family ceremony will be scheduled, and all family and friends will be notified in advance.

While at Cita rescue mission I got to know David, he loved to play drums, and also loved to take care of the Cita Garden. He did know the Lord and David was a down to earth guy. He will be missed.
