Elizabeth “Liz” Losenbeck Hemenway
Elizabeth “Liz” Losenbeck Hemenway, 85, passed away peacefully at home on May 27, 2022, in Melbourne, FL. She was born in Miami, FL on June 4, 1936, and was so proud of her South Florida roots.
She is survived by her daughters, Valerie (Russ) Sasso, and Linda (Darrell) Foster; grandchildren, Amanda, James “Cody”, Shannon, Daniel, and Dalton; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Evan, Finley, and Grady; the Losenbeck nephews, Mike, Mark, Greg, and Rick; brother, Arthur (Joyce) Losenbeck; and sister, Jeanette (Mike Benjamin) Drake.
Elizabeth is predeceased by her husband, Russell “Bud” Lee Hemenway; son, Richard Arthur Hemenway, and brother, Richard Losenbeck.
Liz was first, an amazing mother, sister, friend, and caregiver. She was also very gifted with all things with numbers and worked in various industries using her accounting skills.
She was fiercely independent, possessed amazing inner strength, was a self-taught financial wizard, protector of nature, Southern Baptist, and always ready for the next adventure.
As a mother and sister, she modeled how to love well, give selflessly, and handle whatever life throws at you with resilience.
Dear Mom,
Clearly, you have indeed fulfilled the plans that you expressed in the treasure, “Bootees to Bobby Sox” in 1951. Your love of agriculture and animals has been passed down to your children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Your mission field has been that of self-sacrifice as you have loved on, and taken care of others, whether children or the elderly, needing a caregiver: always having time for others that God placed in your path. You bring peace, smiles, and comfort to those who are in desperate need of all these things.
“Well done good and faithful servant.”
A favorite charity of Mom’s was The Nature Conservancy and it would be an honor to her to consider a donation.
Services will be on Thursday, June 2 at The Church at Viera. There will be a time for visitation from 3-4 with the service beginning at 4:00. A reception will follow.
