He is survived by his children, Roy Black, Mary McClarey, Roger Black, Sarah Ellis and Sarah Fortier; 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
John was predeceased by his wife of 51 years Frances S. Black and sister, Dorothy Proffer
A private family service was held.
Expressions of sympathy should be made to the Humane Society of South Brevard.
