Joanmarie Myers

Born August 20, 1957 in Brooklyn, New York
Departed February 10, 2024 in Melbourne, Florida

Loving Wife, Mother & Grandmother

Joanmarie died peacefully on February 10, 2024 in Melbourne, Fla.L surrounded by her family.

A resident of Indialantic, Fla.FL, Joanmarie spent the last years of her life with her husband Michael at a beach home that was the culmination of decades of hard work. Joanmarie was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on August 20, 1957 to Robert & Joan Munoz. She graduated from Manalapan High School in New Jersey in 1975. She met her husband Michael in 1986, wedding on January 27, 1989 in their backyard in Palm Bay, Fla. Mom and Dad moved a lot in the beginning, and Mom was always ready to throw a couple kids and dogs in a car and drive across the country. She lived in St. Clair Shores, Mich., Freehold, N.J., Manalapan, N.J., Palm Bay, Fla., Santa Cruz, Calif., Danville, Ala. and Lutz, Fla. She spent over 30 years working in different aspects of the banking industry, retiring as an accomplished mortgage underwriter.

Fun Fact: Mom loved fun facts. She was our own resident encyclopedia and dominated at Trivial Pursuit. Her favorite books include: To Kill a Mockingbird, The Outsiders, and the Outlander Series. Her favorite movie was The Godfather. Her free time was spent reading historical novels and watching period dramas. She was an avid Anglophile and one of her favorite memories was the month that her and Cassidy spent exploring the United Kingdom. She loved animals and our home was never without at least two dogs, but usually included a full menagerie.

Mom loved reading and history. Her home was always open for anyone in need and she brought warmth to everyone in the room. A naturally shy person with strangers, she was most comfortable holding court in her home, entertaining family over the years.

She is survived by her husband Michael, her children Justin, Cassidy and Riley, her granddaughter Hayden, her brother Steven Munoz, her sister Mary Mitchell and her father Robert Munoz. Joanmarie’s proudest achievement was her family, and she is blessed with an abundance of siblings, nieces and nephews. She joins her brother Bob & her mother Joan in repose.

A memorial will be held for Joanmarie at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at the Veterans Memorial Center in Merritt Island. 400 S. Sykes Creek Pkwy, Merritt Island, FL 32952 | 321-453-1776.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation, designated for the Medical Research program in her honor. You can donate at: Alzheimer’s Arthritis Foundation
