Odd Fredrik Johannessen, 88, passed away peacefully on July 17th, 2025 surrounded by his loving family at his home in Indialantic, Florida. He was born in Haugesund, Norway on December 15, 1936. He was the son of Odd Konrad Johannessen and Freida Beate (Nilsen)
Odd was married to his beautiful wife Hanne-Mi, whom he adored, for 60 years, prior to her passing on November 22, 2022.
Odd is survived by his 3 children Birgitte Johannessen-Coughlin, Eyvind Johannessen and his wife Lisa, Karen Johannessen Schram and her husband Chris. Mosar/Farfar was adored by his 9 grandchildren Lauren, Samantha, Sara, Hunter, Pamela, Stephen, Nicholas, Hannah and Emma, and 7 great grandchildren, Lilly, Owen, Garrett, Charlotte, Henry, Jaxon and baby Paisley.
Odd was predeceased by his brother Erling Johannessen of Haugesund, Norway and survived by his sister in law Luli Johannessen and nieces, nephews and friends in Norway.
Odd attended Copenhagen Business School and received his degree in Economics in 1962. He worked for Stolt-Nielsen from 1964-1986. Odd became Vice President and Marine Manager of SN from 1974-1980 and then became Fleet Manager from 1980-1986 in Haugesund, Norway and then moved his family to Greenwich, Ct in 1973, where he remained with the company until retiring in 1986. From 1987-1992, he was President of Norse Enterprises Inc in Greenwich. In 1990 Odd and Hanne-Mi move back to Norway, where he became owner and CEO of Reanco, an onshore/offshore oil service company, until 1995 and that same year became director of Everclean International until he retired.
Odd enjoyed spending time with his family, boating, fishing, hunting and traveling . He enjoyed watching his favorite sports team the NY Mets play baseball , and the NY Giants ( football) . He enjoyed watching golf and soccer. In his earlier years he was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time socializing with his fellow golfers and enjoyed playing tennis .
Odd was a hardworking , loving , kind and generous man . He will very much missed by his family and friends .
