Born on December 17, 1947 in Miami, Florida
Passed February 26, 2025 in Seneca, South Carolina
Robert (Jerry) Gerald Noland, Jr., age 77, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2025, in Seneca, South Carolina. Born December 17, 1947, in Miami, Florida, he was the son of Robert Noland and Virginia Noland Davis.
Jerry lived with his family in Miami, Florida until high school, when they relocated to Melbourne, Florida. Upon graduation from Melbourne High School in 1965, Jerry briefly attended Western Kentucky University and played football for the ‘Hilltoppers’.
Jerry married Eilene Hunter Toughey in 1967. They had one daughter, Kelli Noland Nesseth and were married for 15 years. In the early days of the Kennedy Space program, Jerry worked at Cape Canaveral as a computer programmer but ultimately joined his father’s plaster and dry wall company. Jerry developed it into a full-scale commercial construction company.
Noland Construction was incorporated in 1972 and constructed over 3 million square feet of facilities for various developers and Fortune 500 companies in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia.
Jerry went on to manage the Orlando branch of SIKON Construction Company LLC. Under his leadership, that office completed Delray Marketplace, one of the largest lifestyle projects constructed in the southeast. He also completed projects for Publix and Disney World.
A passionate competitor all of his life, as a young man Jerry raced inboard boats with his father-in-law, Richard Hunter. Later he spent time on his boat, “The Main Event” fishing and scuba diving in the Bahamas. In his later years, Jerry was an avid fan of Gator football and developed a passion for shooting Sporting Clays, which he loved to do with his friends.
Jerry is survived by his daughter Kelli (Jeff) Nesseth; grandchildren Jordan (Alec) Whitley and Carlye Nesseth; brother Richard (Terrie) Noland; niece Jenna Noland and nephew Bret (Aleia) Noland. Robert is preceded in death by his parents Bob Noland and Virginia Davis.
Services will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 4pm at Brownlie Maxwell Funeral Home in Melbourne, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research:

I had the honor and privilege of being Mr. Noland’s nurse case manager for almost 3 years.
He was such an amazing person; had lived life to the fullest and impacted so many people.
It was such a pleasure for me, to be a part of his later years; hopefully having a positive impact on his life and health. It was a small role; he had such loving family and friends. I am so glad that I met him and had a few years knowing him!

Jerry has always been there for me. Jerry and I had so many great memories. He's been in my life since I was born. I will always miss watching Gator and Orlando Magic games with him. When no one understood what was going on in my life he was always there to talk to. I love you Jerry. We have a bond that will be for eternity.
