Wilma Jean Weigand (Lohnes) of Melbourne, FL passed away peacefully at 9:15 pm, Saturday, April 19, 2025 at the age of 93. Wilma Jean was born October 13, 1931 in Cincinnati Township, Tazewell County, Illinois to Dallas and Lydia Emma (Lay) Lohnes and was one of 11 children. She was preceded in death by prior marriages to Frederick Arnold Hogan and Ronald Eugene Weigand. Wilma Jean is also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, six sisters, two daughters and one daughter-in-law.

Surviving is one sister, Marjorie Vogelsang of Washington, Illinois, her two sons Ronuld Hogan of Melbourne, Florida and Kerry Hogan of Spring Branch, Texas, her stepson Kirk Weigand of Quebec, her stepdaughters Leslie (Weigand) Kirwin of Eliot, Maine and Kelly (Weigand) Copeland of Wells, Vermont, and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

“Jean” as she was known to many, never missed an opportunity to send a card to someone to celebrate their birthday, a holiday or an anniversary. She would always add a kind note and the card would arrive on time, every year! She loved her grandchildren and honoring their birthdays! In her younger years she enjoyed decorating and cooking for holidays as well as celebrating with family. She loved football, especially being an avid fan of the Miami Dolphins, and kept up on all the news and games.

She was a member of the New Hope Lutheran Church in West Melbourne, Florida and cherished her time as a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Vero Beach, Florida. There will be a brief memorial service at 10:00 am on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at the New Hope Lutheran Church in West Melbourne. Paster Jon Hartmann will officiate. Following the service, there will be a burial prayer at Grace Lutheran Church at 1:00 pm, May 8, 2025 at Grace Lutheran Church in Vero Beach.
