Helen Margaret Goukler Sawyer Wescoat of Melbourne, Florida passed away Friday morning, July 15, 2022 at age 92.

She is survived by a daughter, Patti Lynn Zane (Kenny); sons, Joseph M. Sawyer, III (Cathy) and Tom Sawyer; and a step-son, Milton J. Wescoat (Jane). She was very proud of being born and raised in Atlantic City and always considered it her home. Her dad’s City Service and Yellow Cab companies were always an integral part of her life.

From her earliest years, she was an avid dancer and loved telling stories of dancing recitals or ballroom dancing on the boardwalk piers, especially in the heyday of the Big Band Era. She was a Girl Scout leader, a cub scout “den mother” and actively involved in local Ventnor politics. She was also a volunteer for the local hospice in Atlantic City for several years and an enthusiastic traveler going on bus trips, cruises and international tours. She loved pink Flamingoes and butterflies. She always had a butterfly clip in her hair.
