For Lyle, my former colleague at Collins aerospace my former winter time, fox hunting companion complete with white coveralls, my fellow who invited me over to his house every evening when I was down there on a business trip, we used to shoot pool, enjoy Lyles three yellow labs one time. And try to drink all of lyle’s beer and probably almost always succeeded in doing that. Oh man did we ever like drinking Heineken beer right out of the refrigerator ice cold on a hot day but don’t get any better folks lyle and I are both canine hopeless, canine lovers and of course the breed is th e yellow
Lyle and I are both hopeless canine lovers and of course our favorite breed is the yellow lab or the black lab or the chocolate lab or any lab long as it’s a lab gotta love them folks. You’re the best dog in the world believe me I
Way back in 2005 lyle finally agreed with me to tagalong on a trip to Wyoming to go elk hunting. I was ecstatic when I found out he was gonna be going along so I made arrangements for lyle to arrive at our house the afternoon before the day that we departed for Wyoming and of course I had a plan and me and lyle went over to the star light our favorite blue collar hangout and had one of those iowa tenderloins complete with onion rings and a couple of glasses of beer. My God that stuff was good and me and lyle both enjoyed it to the max.
Just now I was thinking about doing something to the max, it seemed like me and lyle did just about everything to the max one time many years ago I brought my trap gun with me on a business trip in lyle and I went out to the trap range on a Sunday morning that was just absolutely beautiful. Earl Funderburke was out there also and Earl is a trap shooter that I didn’t know that so me and Earl and a couple other guys went get up on the firing line and started shooting trap and I’ll be darned. My trusty trap gun came through for me and I ran 25 straight And lyle God bless him. God bless him he he was so happy for me. He had Earl Thunderbird go digging for a 25 patch of cloth patch that has a 25 straight on it and you SOWED, patches to your to your shooting vest because you’re so happy that you broke 25 straight
But now all good aside folks, I’m having a little trouble writing this obituary because I can’t keep my emotions under control. I don’t mind telling you folks I’m so deeply saddened by the death of my friend lyle that I can hardly contain but now all good good but now all good aside folks I’m having a little trouble spacewriting this ob IT space because I can’t keep my emotions under control. I don’t mind telling you folks I’m so deeply saddened by the death of my friend and lyle that I can hardly contain but all good but all good all good aside folks I am having a a little trouble, maintaining my composure
However, I ask you folks Chad and Dawn included that every time you think of Chad, your dad to have a smile remember the good times because lyle had a lot of good times in his life. He knew how to live. He enjoyed life like nobody else he loved the outdoors and fun hunting and riding bikes and making Mailboxes and making furniture. In fact lyle sent me the plans for making. I think it’s a Chase. it’s called a Chase lounge out of pine. I use those plans and built a chair myself and I’m not a very good carpenter, but I’ll tell you what that version of my handy work turned out almost perfect
I had to have Loras Overman my good buddy helped me a little bit in between the two of us. We turned out a pretty nice product now interestingly enough lyle I don’t think he ever had a partner. He just learned how to fit. He figured out ways to build stuff himself in a lot of times when you’re building stuff you need a second pair of hands Well guess what folks lyle was crafty enough to figure out a way to do it by himself and that is not easy to do believe me I’ve tried it and it’s to me. It’s almost impossible.
Oh Lordy, this is so hard lyle I’ll see you around little buddy. Will never forget you. I’ll always love you and I’ll see you on the other side buddy. Just be patient I’m coming. I’m gonna get there lyle I know I am and I know you’re already there.
And folks this goes for anybody in the audience if you would just stop and take a little extra time and work with God and promise God that you’ll do your best you can get there too all of us can if we just figure out a way to truly and utterly loved one another and destroy hate for all times Because you cannot beat hate with more hate, the only way you can beat hate is with love.
Love conquers everything, love is everything, God is love and he is everything to everybody to anything that ever existing God loves everything and just think of this now folks God not only loved us. He gave us his only son Jesus and he knew that when he did that he was committing his own son to a fate that was absolutely awful painful and ultimately killed him he knew beyond the shadow of a doubt that someday Jesus fall Jesus‘s people some of the people would turn on him and they knew and God knew I got it. I got I gotta figure out a way to get my emotions under control. Holy cow.
And so folks, I’m gonna sign off right now because lyle would want it that way, I love you lyle you’re my best friend and you always will be my hunting partner in Wyoming hunting elk huntingevery year from now until eternity lyle we get to go and listen to the elk viewing on a bitterly cold morning in God‘s country brings goosebumps to me just thinking about that thinking about the bugling and how magnificent it is to listen to
It’s true buddy and I tell you what bud I’ll be seeing you shortly. Bye buddy see you around. Go look up your your loved lost labs cause they’re waiting for you. I know they are right now. You’re probably sitting on the floor with four or five labs licking you all over and completely trying to overwhelm you with love Enjoy buddy bye
