Barbara Jean Omainsky, 95 years of age, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2024, in Melbourne, FL.
Barbara Jean was born June 3, 1928, in Fulton, New York to the late Fredrick and Dorothy Smith. She was the oldest of three children, both preceded her in death.
Barbara Jean married the late Walter Omainsky in 1981, together they raised a blended family of five children. Barbara enjoyed her work as a secretary for GE on the Apollo program at PAFB and as a medical secretary. She and Walter retired to Jasper, Georgia and enjoyed traveling. She truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures, spending time with her friends and family, and her beloved animals.
Barbara Jean preceded in death by her parents, sister, brother, husband, and one son. She is survived by four children and their spouses, several grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Family, friends, and others whose lives Barbara Jean Omainsky touched are invited to Brownlie-Maxwell Chapel in Melbourne, at 10 am – 11am on Monday February 19, 2024, to reminisce, grieve, and support each other. A service will be held at 11 am, followed by a burial at Fountainhead Funeral Home & Memorial Park in Palm Bay.
