Jeanette Eve (Waldrop) Smith

Born on May 26, 1961 in San Antonio, Texas
Passed on January 31, 2026 in Orlando, Florida

Jeanette Eve Smith nee Waldrop, born May 26, 1961, passed away on December 31, 2025, while at AdventHealth Orlando Hospital, Florida. A cancer surgery three months earlier was very successful. However, complications from the surgery set in that she couldn’t overcome. She will be missed by family and friends literally all over the world.

Born in San Antonio, Texas, she was proud to say she was made in Germany, as per the tattoo on her bum. Her father was in the U.S. Army and stationed a few times in Germany, marrying her mother. Her older brother and sister were born in Germany.

Jeanette enjoyed life, including traveling to Norway, Germany, The Netherlands, Canada, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia; raising pets including a number of dogs and cats, rabbit, chicken, mice, guinea pigs, and two monkeys; and raising a variety of plants in her yard.

Jeanette met Marc Stephen Smith while they both worked at Harris Corporation in Palm Bay, FL. They eventually married on Leap Day, February 29, 1993. A short while later, Marc accepted an overseas assignment by Harris to Malaysia. That turned into a 4-5 year stay which they had a great time traveling around the area and entertaining American style. When they returned, they lived in his house in Melbourne Shores. Unfortunately, after 30 years together, life changed for the two of them and they divorced in March 2023. She moved, purchased and lived in her parents’ home in Palm Bay.

Jeanette’s father Loyd Eugene passed away in March 2016. Her mother Eva-Marie passed away in February 2022. She is survived by her older brother Thomas L. Waldrop of Palm Bay and sister Franziska M. Meek nee Waldrop of Orlando.

Brownlie-Maxwell Funeral Home P.A of Melbourne is handling the arrangements. Jeanette will be cremated and her ashes spread in the ocean waters near her home.
