Jerry “Randy” Randolf Durand Randy Durand, 81, of Malabar, Florida, passed away on October 7, 2026. He was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on August 29th, 1945, to the late Gladston and Jennie Alberta Durand. A proud veteran of the United States Navy, Randy later served as an Inspector for Brevard County and as Mayor of Malabar, Florida. He was always known for his dedication to his country, community, and his strong work ethic. He was a man of quiet dedication to his family and his Christian faith, always putting their needs and happiness first. Whether guiding, supporting, or simply showing up, he made those closest to him feel deeply valued. Beyond his own family, he had a rare gift for friendship—welcoming others with genuine warmth and treating them as if they had always belonged. Many who were not related by blood still counted him as one of their own. His passions revealed the same steady character. He loved hunting, finding peace and purpose in the woods and the traditions that came with it. He was also a skilled carpenter whose work was marked by remarkable precision and care. That same determination and craftsmanship shone through when he cleared the land with his family and built their home by hand—a lasting testament to his strength, skill, and commitment to creating a place where those he loved could thrive. Randy is survived by his two sons, Keith R. Durand and Brian D. Durand; two grandsons, Benjamin D. Durand and Samuel C. Durand; two brothers, Melvin (Daryl) Durand and Roland Durand.
