Renee Adele Goldstein Schneider

Born on March 1, 1937 in Detroit, Michigan
Passed on February 5, 2026 in Rockledge, Florida

Renee Schneider, our beloved mother, sister, bubbe, auntie, and friend to so many, passed away peacefully in Melbourne, Florida on February 5, 2026, where she was a longtime resident.
Renee, daughter of Louise and Benjamin Goldstein, was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan where she lived with her parents and sister Beverly. She graduated from Mumford High School and attended Wayne State University where she studied nursing. It was during this time that she met the love of her life and husband of 64 years, Joel, who preceded her in death on December 14, 2022. They were introduced by her dear friend, Joni, and were married six months later on December 29, 1957. They started their life together in Detroit where Joel worked as a manager at Atlantic Mills Department Store. They later moved to Easton, Pennsylvania with their three young children, Barry, Mark, and Carol, where Joel managed the family business, Washington Wood Products. Renee’s life centered around being a homemaker and being socially involved at B’nai Abraham Synagogue where she served as Sisterhood President. She and her best friend, Shirley Kantor, started Serendipity III, a personalized gift business, and Invitations by Renee, her customized invitation business. In 1979, the family moved to Melbourne, Florida where they owned and operated D&W Wholesale Greenhouse. She later worked at Pine Grove Elementary with physically disabled children while continuing her wedding invitation business and serving as President of the Brevard Wedding Association. Renee and Joel took several big trips in retirement including trips to Israel, Canada, Italy, the Grand Canyon, and, her dream, Alaska. She was a proud member of the Ambassadors Team at her assisted living facility, Chateau Madeleine, where she provided an immediate warm friendship to new residents.
Renee knew no stranger. She deeply touched so many lives with her natural instinct to nurture, protect, and love. She was tough and stubborn, refusing to allow anything to stop her from enjoying the many visits from her greatest joys: her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and life long friends.
Renee is survived by her children, Barry and Sandy Schneider of Tysons, VA, Mark Schneider of Melbourne, FL, and Carol Orsak of Houston, Texas. She is also survived by her sister, Beverly (Arnold) Lantor, her seven grandchildren Megan Zimman, Naomi (Jesse) Brubaker, Rachel Schneider, Sarah Orsak, Rebecca (John) Green, Jordan (Ariel) Orsak, Brandon Schneider, three step-grandchildren, Paula (Johnny), Jamie, and Sydney, eight great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Ida, Virginia, Ezra, Miriam, Bram, Shay, and Georgia, and was recently blessed to learn of another one on the way.
Her funeral service will be held Monday, February 9th, at 10:00 am at Temple Beth Shalom, 5995 North Wickham Road, Melbourne, Florida 32940. A graveside service will follow at Florida Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 5950 US-1, Rockledge, Florida 32955.
In lieu of flowers, and per Renee’s wishes, please make any donations in her memory to the Brevard Humane Society.

The Passing of Renee Adele Goldstein Schneider Hello Carol, I read the summary of your mother’s lifetime with a heart full of warmth and admiration. I was truly moved by the writer’s ability to capture the essence of her whole life and the beautiful legacy she leaves behind in just a few verses. You are so blessed to be one of her children and to cherish the memories of a life so well lived. I couldn’t help but notice how much you and your mom look alike! Take comfort in the warmth of family gathering together during this inevitable time. See you on the trails.
