William D. “Bill” Hubbard, 90, of Melbourne, Florida died May 23, 2026 following a short hospitalization.
He was born in Gloucester, Massachusetts on June1, 1935 to William H. Hubbard and Margaret V. Dahlmer. He graduated from Lawrence Academy in Groton, MA and Burdett College in Boston. He spent his career working in the Insurance industry.
During his lifetime he lived in Gloucester, MA, Windham, NH, Barnstead, NH, Barnstable, MA, Rock Hill, SC and Melbourne, FL. He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved fishing, boating, hiking, camping and hunting. He was always active in community matters, serving on the Board of Selectmen in Windham, NH. He also became a very prolific painter of maritime and ocean subjects in his later years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou Rust, daughter Kathy Tatham, and grandchildren BJ and JoAnna Hubbard. He is survived by his children William Hubbard (Kim) of Melbourne, FL, Lou Ann McGloughlin of Rochester, NH, Jane Vincent (Dennis) of Venice, FL, Lisa Blackburn (Andrew) of Palm Bay, FL, and Carolyn O’Donnell (Dave) of York, ME. In addition to his children, he is survived by his brother Jay H. Hubbard of Vernon Hills, IL, 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grand children and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services: There are no visiting hours. A funeral Mass will be held Monday, June 15th at 11:00am at St Joseph Catholic Church 5330 Babcock St. NE Palm Bay, Florida 32905.
Burial will be at Seaside Cemetery in Gloucester, MA at a time to be determined.
