Joseph Jean Melanson

Joseph, one of 13 siblings, was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts, to his father Peter Melanson and mother Emily Marcott.
He is survived by his son Dennis (Doreen) Melanson and daughters Kim (Eddie) Melanson, Angie (Nelson) Pimental, Bonnie Melanson, Missy Cannon, and Stepdaughter Tina (Dylan) Ward along with 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He preceded his wife Elaine and his son Alan Melanson.
Joe moved to Florida in the early 80’s but he never lost his love for the New England sports teams. He loved to play golf and enjoyed playing poker on Saturdays. Mostly, Joe loved his family. He was a great dad, wonderful grandfather, fun uncle, and a best friend. He had the personality to make friends no matter where he went. In his memory, please hug someone you love.
No funeral or memorial service will be held. His Celebration of life time and location have not yet been determined.
