Departed July 21, 2024 in Rockledge, Florida

Laverne R. Kazimir (Bender) passed away peacefully in Rockledge, Florida on Sunday, July 21, 2024.

Laverne was born on September 17, 1947 to Mary Grzyb and Anthony Bender. Laverne grew up in South River, New Jersey. She attended Drake Business School where she met her husband Curtis Kazimir. They went on to marry and live in South River, New Jersey and have two children that were the center of Laverne’s universe – Noel and Kevin. Laverne, along with her family, lived in Monroe Township, New Jersey up until 2010 when she and her husband Curtis moved to Melbourne, Florida.

Laverne was an extremely dedicated mother that made it her duty to see to it that her children and grandchildren felt loved and secure. She was proud of her Polish-American heritage and served pierogies every holiday season. She was an avid interior decorator and delighted everyone in her life by keeping her house decorated for every season. She was a huge dog lover and would always enjoy a four legged friend of any size in her lap. If a family member or family friend were ever in her presence, Laverne made sure that no one ever left her presence hungry. Above all, Laverne devoted her heart and spirit to her husband, children, and grandchildren.

Laverne is survived by her husband Curtis Kazimir; her daughter Noel Michalski (James); her son Kevin Kazimir (Rebecca); her step-brother Patrick Kozma; and her grandchildren Grace, Emma, and Adeline. She is predeceased by her parents Mary Gryzb Bender Kozma and Anthony Bender; and her step-father Alexander Kozma.

A private cremation and celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Laverne’s name to St. Jude:
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
