Shirley Krueger, age 89, of Melbourne, Florida, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on July 18, 2024. Born on March 2, 1935, in Chicago, Illinois. Shirley’s life was a testament to love, faith, and dedication.

In 1954, while Donald Krueger was stationed in Florida, fate brought them together. They married on April 30, 1954, and soon after, began their married life in Florida, starting a family in March of 1955. Their enduring love was a cornerstone of Shirley’s life.

Shirley was an active and cherished member of her community. She devoted many years to her local church as a Sunday School teacher and children’s ministry volunteer. Her compassion extended beyond the church walls, as she also volunteered at Holmes Regional Medical Center, touching countless lives with her kindness and generosity.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Bill and Minnie Brokaw; her brother Bill Brokaw, and her grandsons, Donnie (Olivia) Krueger and Scott Krueger.

She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Donald Krueger; her children, Karen (Pat) Dunn, Donn Krueger, and Scott (Becki) Krueger, and her grandchildren, Patrick Dunn, Joe Dunn, Brian (Erika) Krueger, Olivia Krueger, Sarah (Mike) Williams, Melissa (Noah) Krueger, and Matthew (Denise) Krueger. Shirley was blessed with 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride.

Shirley’s life was a living example of Matthew 25:21: “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Her legacy of love, service, and faith will continue to inspire all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 9th, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Centerpointe Church, 891 Coply Street, SE, Palm Bay, Florida 32909. Shirley’s family invites all who knew and loved her to join in this celebration of a life well-lived.
