Passed March 9, 2025, in Melbourne, Florida
Josefina Navarro Pangilinan, fondly known as Mama Josie, was born on June 6, 1951, in Pangasinan, Philippines, to Luisa & Leandro Navarro. She was married to Michael Pangilinan and was the proud mother of four children: Agnes, Anabelle, Dennston, and Renee-Joyce. Before migrating to the United States in December 2014, Mama Josie was a business owner in her hometown in Pangasinan.
Upon settling in the U.S., she worked as a caregiver at various elderly facilities in the Brevard and Orlando areas.
Despite her busy work schedule, she remained a deeply devout Christian, never missing an opportunity to attend church. Her unwavering faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she consistently lived out her Christian values in every aspect of her life.
Mama Josie dreamed of uniting her children in the land of opportunities, but her vision was not realized due to her untimely passing.
She fought courageously against cancer with remarkable strength and an enduring love for her family.
Despite her illness, her faith remained steadfast, and she held onto the hope that she would be reunited with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
After spending her final days under the compassionate care of VITAS Healthcare, she passed away peacefully in the arms of Jesus on March 9, 2025, at Avante Nursing Home in Melbourne, Florida.
Her family, including Orson, her son-in-law, and their children, Ona and OrsonSol Madlambayan, along with her relatives in the Philippines and Canada, will forever cherish her memory and the legacy of love, faith, and strength that she leaves behind. Mama Josie will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
Mama Josie is receiving expert care from Brownlie-Maxwell regarding cremation arrangements. Her final Celebration of Life ceremony will be held in the Philippines, pending confirmation of the date.
