Lesa Jane Cardin

Born on September 4, 1960 in Tullahoma, Tennessee

Departed on July 1, 2025, in Melbourne, Florida

Lesa Jane Cardin, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, in Melbourne, Florida, at the age of 64.
Born in Tullahoma, Tennessee, Lesa was the daughter of the late James Donald Stockton, Sr. and Clara Elizabeth Stockton. She was raised with the values of kindness, hard work, and loyalty—traits that defined her character and touched the lives of all who knew her.
In the late 1980s, Lesa made Melbourne, Florida her home, where she would live for the remainder of her life. She built a life grounded in love, filled with the joy of family and the comfort of close friendships. Whether welcoming new neighbors or reconnecting with lifelong friends, Lesa brought warmth and openness to every relationship.
Lesa found joy in the simple things life has to offer. She loved cooking meals for family and friends, gardening, and keeping her home beautiful and welcoming—a reflection of the care she offered so generously to those around her. She took pride in every detail, and her home was a haven of comfort, warmth, and southern hospitality.
Lesa was deeply devoted to her family, and her greatest joy came from her role as mother and grandmother. She shared an extraordinary bond with her daughter, Laura Elaine Fitzsimmons, one built on deep love, trust, and enduring friendship. Her grandchildren, Camdyn and Dawson Fitzsimmons, were the light of her life. She embraced every moment with them—from school events to everyday moments—with unmatched love and attention.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and David Fitzsimmons; her grandchildren, Camdyn and Dawson Fitzsimmons; her brother, Donnie Stockton and his wife Linda; her sister, Debbie Trader and her husband Rudi; and several cherished nieces, a nephew, and great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Donald and Elizabeth Stockton, whose memory she held dear throughout her life.
Lesa also treasured her friendships, especially her time spent with close friends in Georgia, where she shared countless laughs, memories, and heartfelt conversations. Her kindness, thoughtfulness, and ability to truly listen made her a trusted friend to many.
A service to honor and celebrate Lesa’s life will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Brownlie-Maxwell Funeral Home, 1010 Palmetto Ave, Melbourne, FL 32901. Friends and family are invited to attend and share in remembering her remarkable life.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Lesa’s memory to two causes close to the heart:

Leukemia and Lymphoma Society6

Multiple System Atrophy United Research Consortium

Lesa Cardin will be remembered for her deep love, gentle heart, and enduring devotion to family. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, and the memories she leaves behind will be cherished always.
