Margaret J. Braswell

Born on December 7, 1938 in Kapuskasing, Canada
Departed on July 21, 2025 in Melbourne, Florida

Margaret J. Braswell, 86, of Melbourne, Florida, passed away on July 21, 2025. She was born in Kapuskasing, Canada, the youngest of three children born to Dave and Ethel Macomish. Margaret was raised there until the age of 11 when her family moved to Alabama. Shortly after graduating from Childersburg High, she met her husband of 50 years, James Phillips Braswell. After they married, they moved to Florida.

Margaret had received a secretarial certificate from a local business college after high school and did secretarial/clerical work for a savings and loan and a soil testing company throughout her working career. But, her favorite “job” was being “grandma”. She loved playing with all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Whether it be rolling around on the ground, playing games, reading books or sneaking them sweet treats that their parents wouldn’t let them have, Marge was always happiest being with them!

Marge was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip, in 2011. She is survived by her son Bill Braswell and Gloria (grandchildren: Melissa (Nathan – great grandchildren Abbie, Audrey and Eli), Kathryn (Justin – great grandchildren Emma and Colin), William (Alexa), and Kelly. Her daughter Wendi Beahan and Chuck (Grand children: Morgan (Michele – great grandchildren Marlin, Mellie and Ryla) Mason (Ariel), and Kendall. Marge will be deeply missed by her family and numerous friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at Brownlie-Maxwell Funeral Home. Visitation starts at 10:00 am and the service begins at 11:00 am.
