On September 20, 2025, Richard Simoes of South Melbourne Beach, Florida passed away at the age of 70 years old.
He was born on June 19, 1955, in Bethpage, New York. Rich loved the beach, collecting seashells and driftwood, learning about the treasures of the world, was a history buff, and an avid wood carver. He loved John Lennon and the Beatles. He was a major Miami Dolphins fan through thick and thin.
After many years of servicing machinery as well as lawn maintenance and landscaping, he then retired.
Rich survived by his wife Susan; daughters Melissa Simoes, Heather Perrin, Cara Boyarin; son Ricky Simoes and his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Sophie and Joseph Simoes and his sister Laura Donoghue.
His memorial service will be on October 4, 2025, at 11:00 am at Community Chapel by the Sea, 8240 SR A1A, Melbourne Beach, Florida 32951. A celebration of life and paddle out will be at 1 pm at Melbourne Shores Ocean Pavilion, 5949 SR-A1A, Melbourne Beach, Florida 32951.
