Richard E. Hutchinson “Hutch”
In Loving Memory of
Richard E. Hutchinson (“Hutch”)
December 16, 2025 | Age 91
Richard E. Hutchinson (“Hutch”), age 91, passed away peacefully in hospice care on December 16, 2025, following a brief illness.
Richard was the beloved husband of the late Donna P. Hutchinson for 70 years. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised their family in Melbourne, Florida.
Born on the family farm in Saybrook, Ohio, Richard spent his youth working the land, learning strong values and life lessons that guided him throughout his life. In his free time, he could often be found walking the woods and streams, nurturing a lifelong love of nature and animals.
Richard was an accomplished Master Electrician. He began his electrical career in the 1950s as an apprentice, advanced to journeyman, and spent many years as a proud member of IBEW Local 606. After earning his Master Electrician license, he opened H&H Electric, which he successfully operated until his retirement.
Family was at the heart of Richard’s life. He never missed an opportunity to spend time with those he loved, and his family cherishes countless memories of him teaching new skills, sharing life lessons, and telling stories.
Richard is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Donna Hutchinson; and his daughter and son-in-law, Holly and Harry Voswinkle. His loving spirit lives on through his grandchildren, Carrie and Barry Balavender; Rustin and Amber Hutchinson; Sarah and Chris Hayne; Haley and Nicholi Schneider; and Hope Voswinkle; as well as his five cherished great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna P. Hutchinson; his son, Rodney Hutchinson; and his parents, Fred Phillips and Leda Gregory.
Like the woods and streams he loved, Richard’s steady presence and gentle spirit will be remembered always.
