Ewell Stonewall Neal, Jr.
“Stoney”
Stoney was peacefully called home on 9/26/26. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
A lifelong resident and native Floridian, Stoney served in the US Navy and always said he saw the world. After his service to our country, he became a Master Electrician with the Alachua Co. School System, enjoying a long fulfilling career. Many benefitted from his knowledge that he was more than happy to share. There wasn’t anything that he couldn’t fix and he always sought opportunities to help others.
Stony was an avid outdoorsman: fishing, RVing, and enjoying time spent in God’s Creation. Additionally, he was well known for his fish frys, grits, ribs, and boiled peanuts. He loved his Gators! No one cheered louder for his team – football, basketball, and baseball. Go Gators!
He is survived by his wife, Judy; children: Dana and David Moser, Amy and Will Stirna; grandchildren: Jordan (Moser) and Seth Spillare; Grant Moser, Andrew Stirna, Abigail Stirna, and Grace Stirna; sisters Jeanete Boudroux, Virginia and Steven Mauldin, Elizabeth and John Parmelee, and many nieces and nephews.
