On Wednesday February 3, 2021, Lane Dawson Morgan of Melbourne, FL formerly of East Moline, IL was ushered into heaven at the age of 81.
Lane was born on December 8, 1939 in Davenport, IA to Mildred Peterson Morgan and I. George Morgan. Lane graduated from UTHS in 1957, Augustana College, Rock Island, IL then attended Moody Bible Institute Chicago. On October 12, 1963 he married Paula Powell. They raised two sons: Brian and Scott Morgan.
Lane worked over 40 years for Moody Radio Broadcasting, many of those years as Station Manager of WDLM, East Moline, IL. Lane was an active member of First Evangelical Free Church, Moline, IL serving in many capacities, including deacon.
Lane was proceeded in death by his parents, other relatives and a brother-in-law, Larry Powell. He is survived by his wife Paula, two sons Brian and Scott (April), three grandchildren Eric, Joel and Laura, two brothers-in-law Bob (Linda) Powell, and Jim Powell, two sisters-in-law Linda Kay Powell & Linda Lou Powell, and 28 nieces & nephews.
A memorial service is planned at Brownlie & Maxwell Funeral Home, Melbourne FL on Saturday 2pm, February 13 with a Memorial Service at a later date at First Evangelical Free Church in Moline, IL.
