Abraham Gomez Santini

Born on January 28, 1953 in San Juan, Puerto Rico
Departed April 26, 2023 in Palm Bay, Florida

Abraham Gomez Santini, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, departed this life suddenly and unexpectedly of natural causes on April 26, 2023. He was born on January 28, 1953 in San Juan, Puerto Rico to Abraham Gomez and Luz S. Santini. He was a resident of Palm Bay, FL for 33 years.

Abe lived a life full of laughter, adventure, hope, and lots of love. He was a lover of Puerto Rican and Cuban cuisine, music, classic movies, Broadway, the game of Solitaire, and a good chat.
He dedicated over 50 years of his life as an educator working in schools, prisons, and homes. He started in Puerto Rico as an elementary school ESL teacher and continued after moving to Pennsylvania in 1977. After moving to Florida in 1988, he later transitioned to working in the prison school system and then with the Melbourne Florida Safety Counsel. He then obtained his Master’s in Mental Health at Springfield College in Tampa, Florida. His greatest accomplishment was working as a Mental Health Therapist in Pecos, Texas with immigrant children during the summer of 2021.

Not only his family, but anyone who knew Abe quickly learned that his greatest joy was Lissette Alvarez and her music. He attended as many of her concerts as possible and was an active member of her fan community. One of his favorite moments was when Lissette called him on his birthday to sing to him. He was over the moon with excitement. Abe enjoyed reaching out to old and new friends and was the biggest advocate for their success. He enjoyed their conversations and hearing about their life and accomplishments.

Abe was a devoted husband to his wife and a loving father to his children. He was their biggest cheerleader and always encouraged them to follow their dreams, no matter how big or small.
Abe is survived by his wife Yolanda; his son Michael-Julien; his daughter Liza-Marie; his two brothers Addie and Arnold, and two sisters Amcy and Lucy; his closest niece Patricia and nine other nieces and nephews; and he is also survived by his beloved aunts Nelida, Luz Marina, Iraida, Iris, and Noemi.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his memory will live on in our hearts forever.

You will always be loved and never forgotten.

Rest in peace.

Peace, Love, & Light.
