Barbara Gragg Riggs, AKA: Barbara Lee Lakin, Bobby Lee, Bobby, Mommy, Mom, Moma, Aunt Barb, Psycho Granny, Gma, Grandma Barb, and GiGi, age 83 of Melbourne, FL Passed away at Health First William Childs Hospice House.
Born in Handley, West Virginia and grew up in the mountains of Pikeville, Kentucky and moved to Melbourne, FL right after high school in 1961. She never met a stranger! She could drive through a McDonalds and know the cashier’s whole like story by the time she paid and picked up her Coke.
She was dubbed most popular at Mullins High School. She was a great housewife, best baker of yeast rolls and could cook up a holiday meal like no other. She loved planting. She was always the life of the party and the family glue. She had many trophies for bowling, played tennis. She loved to plan and execute extravagant family holidays. She took cake decorating class to make our birthday cakes and was an original DIYer. She sewed everything from clothes, costumes, to home accessories. She was a clown. Yes, she volunteered as a Mason clown for several years. She participated in the building of the Brevard Zoo. She stayed active as Den Mother for baseball, ran the concession stand at Rhode’s Park, Brownie leader, Girl Scout cookie mom, and field trip mom.
She is survived by: Victor Kosler, husband of eight years (06/30/2018). Daughters Kelly Jo Davidson (Donnie) and Tally Rae Schneider (Mike Hardesty). Stepson Fred V. Riggs. Grandchildren Logan, Rob, Forrest, Chandler, Adam, Georgie Rae, Emily Claire, and Peyton. Great grandchildren Robbie, Kailani, Atlas, and Arie. Sister Rhonda Linger.
Proceeded in death by: George M. Riggs (husband of 46 years, 1963 – 2009), Josie Mae Lakin (mother), Forest Gragg (father), Douglas Lakin (stepfather), Reg Lakin (brother)
