Bruce Donald Sexton, age 77, passed away peacefully at home on September 10, 2024, in Palm Bay, Florida with his wife and youngest daughter by his side.

Born on September 13, 1946 in Rome, New York, he was the oldest son to Donald and Eleanor (Pillmore) Sexton. He graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1965 then moved on to a radio broadcasting school in Milwaukee. Bruce worked in various maintenance positions in Arizona, Utah and Virginia before settling back in New York and retiring from Turning Stone Casino in Verona in 2012. Upon retirement, he moved to Palm Bay, Florida, enjoying his years living close to the beach.

He had many passions in life including his love of photography, reading and watching Notre Dame football and spending time with his friends and family. His unwavering faith defined the compassionate and loving person he was. His presence will be deeply missed by family, friends,
and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Bruce is survived by his wife of 44 years, Jackie Sexton and their daughter Brittany (Aron) Condon of Palm Bay, Florida; his three children from his first marriage, Chad Sexton of Rome, New York, Danielle (Charlie) Sexton of Rome, New York and Scott (Krissy) Romano-Sexton of Montclair, Virginia. He is also survived by his brothers Brian (Marie) Sexton of Westernville, New York, Gary (Sholeh) Sexton of Nashua, New Hampshire and Dennis (Gail) Sexton of Rome, New York; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Anne and his brother Dale.

The family wishes to thank the caregivers at Vitas Hospice for their kindness and care provided to Bruce.

Calling hours will be at the Westernville Presbyterian Church on Saturday, October 26, 2024 from 12:30 – 1:00 pm. Funeral services will immediately follow.

Grandpa was truly a family man. He cared so deeply about each and every member of the Sexton family and ensured that everyone felt love in some capacity. I know he will be doing the same as he watches down on us from heaven. Rest in peace in the arms of God, Grandpa. I love you very much!
