Dale B. Adamson M.D.

Born on December 19, 1955 in San Diego, California
Departed in Melbourne, Florida on July 18, 2020

Dr. Dale Brian Adamson, age 64, passed away on July 18, 2020, unexpectedly. He passed away surrounded by the loving voices of his wife, children, and grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father Dr. John Brian Adamson and mother Iva Lois Adamson. He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Mary Adamson, and his sister Aileen Wells. Dale and Mary had five beautiful children together: Heather, Meagan, Jonathan, Shannon, and Jeremy. They welcomed their “bonus children” with loving arms: Mark, Leo, Maddie, Zac, and Emily respectively, along with their grandbabies, Leo, Hazel and Baby Rani, expected in the Fall. His greatest love was that for his wife, children, and grandchildren.

Dale dedicated more than 30 years of his life to the care of others. He spent the majority of his career practicing Family Medicine at Little Falls Hospital in Little Falls, NY. A few years ago, Dale and Mary returned to Melbourne, where Dale practiced medicine at HealthFirst Merritt Island Clinic. Dale had a great love for his patients, appreciation for his colleagues and a passion for helping others that inspired those who knew him.

Dale enjoyed thunderstorms, ocean breezes, Shorin-Ryu Karate, James Bond movies, gin and tonics with three olives, and the occasional Vesper martini. He and his family also adored Disney. Dale’s favorite character was Tigger and you would often hear him sing, “…the most wonderful thing about Tiggers is I’m the only one”. And that he was— a one-of-a-kind caring soul that left this earth before his time.

From his family: Rest in Peace my Sweetheart, my Daddy, my Pop Pop.

Funeral services will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church on Tuesday, July 28, 2020, at 10am. The church is located at 5655 Stadium Parkway, Melbourne, FL. If you choose to attend the service, the family asks that guests adhere to current CDC precautions, including social distancing guidelines and wearing a face covering.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the IPF Foundation to support research into idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, a cause near to Dale’s heart. www.Ipffoundation.org.

I just learned of our loss of Doc Adamson and I am truly saddened. He was my doctor at LF Clinic and I always enjoyed my 'visits'. We talked and listened and he was truly as caring a person and physician as I have ever known. Thank you for your care and compassion, rest peacefully. I just learned of Dr. Adamson's passing into eternal life. He was my beloved Mom's doctor for some years at Cape Canaveral, and he was truly wonderful with her, the best doctor she ever had, so kind, compassionate and knowledgeable. I'm glad to hear that he has such a beautiful family to remember & celebrate his legacy. I'm saddened to read that he was surrounded by only the voices of his loved ones. Our brother-in-law was in Holmes with Covid around that time, and we could not be with him in person. It made the impossible even more heartbreaking. Our voices through phone and tablet were the lifeline. But having loving, beautiful voices surrounding your loved one as their spirit returns home is a truly loving gift. May your family rejoice in knowing that he lives on not only in Heaven, but also in each of them. God bless you all.

I was lucky enough to have Dr D assigned as my PCP about 6 years ago. He got me through a bad patch of debilitating stenosis by listening and not lecturing and most of all by following up with my many treatments. I returned to work last fall because of Dr Dale. He will be sorely missed and impossible to replace. Rest In Peace good sir. No one deserves it more

I am saddened to learn of the untimely death of Dr. Dale Adamson. I learned a great deal from him about my health, longevity, and the health system in our country. He never allowed my minor maladies to cloud his vision and remained focused my primary health needs. I have never met a physician who cared as much about the wellbeing of his patients. I will miss him dearly.

I am speechless to receive such sad news in a letter from Health First, that my primary care physician is no longer with us. He was a great, compassionate guy. i admired his thinking and decisions when it came time to diagnose. He was much too young to leave us. My heart goes out to his beloved family. Please let it be comforting to know how many people loved and admired him.

Fast forward a couple of decades when I moved to Florida and came across him again in my search for a primary care physician. He was always a great listener and I recommended him many times. I am shocked and saddened by his passing and extend my sympathies to his family and friends.

I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Dr. A (what I always called him). I worked in the Little Falls ER and I remember him teasing me about how pleasant I was when I talked to him on the phone. When Dr’s were on call I absolutely hated calling them in late at night and I remember him telling me I worried to much. My thoughts and prayers go out to Mary and the family. Taken all to soon, may he Rest In Peace.

Our deepest sympathy to Dale's family. Dale was our doctor, fellow karate deshi, and most important our friend. During a difficult time in Cape Canaveral Hospital, Dale was there for me with Starbucks coffee and uplifting conversation. It meant so much to have that interaction with someone that really cared.
