JEFFREY SCOTT CANTOR

Passed on March 13, 2026 in Palm Bay, Florida

Jeffrey Cantor, 63 years old of Palm Bay, Florida passed away on March 13, 2026 at his home peacefully.

Born in Rochester, NY on 11/30/1962, he spent most of his youth in Long Island, NY. He discovered his passion for mechanics and airplanes early in life, a passion that turned into a dedicated career as a Certified Aircraft Mechanic spanning over 39 years. He spent his career ensuring the safety of aircraft engines, working for several Airlines such as Capital Air, New York Air, Continental Airlines and United Airlines which had merged with Continental Airlines. His career took him through several stations including EWR, LGA, MIA, and FLL. He worked for United Airlines for the majority of his work life and retired from them after 35 years of service in July of 2020.

When he wasn’t turning wrenches on real aircraft, Jeff could be found at his work desk, surrounded by glue, paint, and dozens of immaculately built model kits. He was an avid model builder, specializing in military aircraft, war ships and classic cars. He had a passion for collecting detailed models. His dedication to precision and detail was renowned in local modeling circles. Jeff also enjoyed collecting real Classic Cars and still had a 1970 Nova in his possession at the time of his passing.

Throughout his life and even more so after retirement, Jeffrey’s greatest love became the open sea and the joy of cruising. Jeffrey was never more at home than when standing on a balcony watching the sun set over the Caribbean, cocktail in hand, listening to the gentle waves of the ocean. He found true peace and happiness on the water. He was a man who embraced the cruising lifestyle to the fullest—always ready for an excursion, dressed sharply for formal nights, and the first to introduce himself in any situation onboard. He made friends from all over the world, bringing his quick wit and a warm smile to everything from the buffet to the theater show. He was an avid planner, with always one cruise finished, one cruise in progress, and one planned for the future. His wife Deborah shared his love for adventure and was his constant partner on the high seas.

Though he has set sail on his final journey, his legacy of adventure, curiosity, and finding joy in the journey will continue to inspire us all .

Predeceased by his parents Seymour and Selma Cantor he is survived by his devoted wife of 13 years Deborah Cantor (nee Ewbank), daughter Jennifer Sotor, son- in-law Stephen Sotor, son Jonathan Cantor, brother Lee Richard “ Rick” Cantor, sister Jill Rosenthal, nieces , nephews and first wife and mother of his children Karen (Cull) Cantor. A Celebration of Life for Jeffrey Cantor will be announced at a later date.
