Leslie Ann Fish

Born on February 7, 1948 in Miami, Florida
Departed on May 29, 2021 in West Melbourne, Florida

Leslie was born in Miami, Florida. She moved to Melbourne in her teens and attended Melbourne High School. She met her future husband, Rob, at the YMCA Newton Field youth camp in Valkaria. She graduated from Orange Memorial Nursing School in Orlando as a Registered Nurse. Leslie and Rob were married at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church while she was working as a RN and Rob was serving in the United States Coast Guard. They moved to New Symrna Beach and had a son, Beau. Shortly thereafter they moved back to Melbourne and had two more children, Dan and Katie. She was blessed with two grandsons, Cameron and Bradlee, whom she loved with all her heart.

She loved exploring the beach, walking in the woods, camping and spending time outdoors with her family and friends. She took in and cared for many “stray” friends of the family and cared for them as if they were her own. She was a babysitter, tutor, and mentor to many children of friends and family. Reading and collecting books were among Leslie’s favorite hobbies.

She was a volunteer for the Friends of the Melbourne Library program and served as its president for a few years. Proud of her American heritage, she was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Always a lover of music and dancing, she was a member of The Rocky Water Cloggers for a number of years and enjoyed dancing with friends and family. Leslie had a passion for Bluegrass music and spent much of her time listening to music and attending festivals across the southeast.

With a penchant for odd things, an infectious smile and an enthusiastic look at life, Leslie easily charmed anyone she met. She is survived by Rob, her husband of 53 years, her Sons Beau and Dan and Daughter Katie, Sister-in-law Chic, Son-in-law Darrell, Daughter-in-law Sarah and her Grandsons Cameron and Bradlee.

Services will be with immediate family only. Leslie loved a backyard get together with friends, family, food and music, so a celebration of life will be held near the end of August.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to The Friends of the Melbourne Library program at 540 E Fee Ave. Melbourne Florida 32901.

Rob and family, You know me as Jean Crews former neighbor. I worked with Leslie at the old MIMA on Sheridan Rd. and found her to be a wonderful and happy person. I still have some of the wooden ducks she made and sold. I am so sorry for your loss. I just saw the information while looking for another friend that passed. God Bless.

Sorry you're gone, Leslie. We worked together - and did a lot of good things together - in the library book sales and the FOML (Friends of the Melbourne Library),.Those were good times, for working together, figuring things out together (where to store all the boxes of books 1), and we made a lot of people happy. I 'retired' and moved away to Orlando, but thanks for carrying on as you did.
