Lisa A. Sherwood, it is with deep sadness that we must announce the passing of our beautiful wife, mother and friend. She was born in Valparaiso, Indiana, to her father, Jim Beltz and her mother Carolyn Beltz. While our hearts mourn her passing, we are comforted by her love, guidance, and all those whose lives she touched.
She will be remembered for her caring heart, her strength, and the joy she brought into the lives of others. Her presence was a blessing, and her memory will be treasured forever.
She is survived by her husband, George Sherwood; her daughter Ryleigh and future son-in-law Nathan; her son Taylor and daughter-in-law Darby; her sons Kieran and Kellen; her Aunt Phylis; her brother Tim; her friend and confidant Steph and Sir Charles. I will not forget her extended children Zoe, Keyshla and Noah.
Lisa will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the love she gave so freely and the joy she brought into the lives of those around her.
In 2000, I met my wife for life in Kissimmee, Florida. We lived one block away but didn’t meet until we worked together at Westgate, from that point on we were always together. When we decided I should go back into the military, we set out on new adventures. She lived in Hawaii, Arizona, Texas, and Alaska. Through it all and sheer determination, she held her family together with unyielding love and compassion.
Lisa fought cancer two years ago and beat it. Then we found out it had spread. She raised her head and began to fight again. Completing chemo and radiation therapy. This time her heart failed her. The pure courage and love that was displayed in this fight was truly breathtaking.
Lisa has moved on from us way to early, but we know she will be with us every day in our hearts and memories. I know she is looking down at us right now with her grandmother, mother, and her second favorite daughter Harley. Rest in peace baby, will see you again, love George.

Lisa,I will always remember our laughter and crazy moments in your bettle bug in Kissimmee. I remember the last time we saw each other was at my wedding in 1993,we had promised to stay in touch but of course life happens. I never forgot my first friend in Florida and years later we were able to reconnect through Facebook, and I enjoyed seeing your posts and family pictures. When I seen you were fighting cancer a couple years ago I knew you were going to rise above because your a fighter. I was so saddened to hear you were having to go through this again, I wish life would have let us reunite in person again but God has other plans. You will be missed my friend, rest easy and in peace with the angels!

Lisa,
You were my first ‘military’ friend and Ryleigh was Maddy’s. Through the years military moves kept miles between us but I have never forgotten you or your family. I will never forget your everlasting kindness and willingness to help. Your smile and laugh were contagious. You and George were so fantastic to me as I navigated our first duty station and Army life while Drew was deployed. Prayers for healing for all that knew and loved Lisa because I know the hole left by her absence will be impossible to fill.
