Departed August 4, 2024 in West Melbourne, Florida

Louis “Louie“ Albert Cardoza, 78, of Melbourne, Florida sadly passed away on August 4, 2024 after a long battle with dementia. Louie was born on June 6, 1946 to Antonio Cardoso and Mary (Botelho) in San Miguel, Portugal. His father passed away when he was young and his mother went on to marry Leonel Cruz, who both lovingly raised and cherished him. Louie grew up in Cambridge, Massachusetts and attended Rindge Technical School. He later went on to join the United States Marine Corps.

After the Marine Corps, Louie joined the New England Carpenters Union and worked various jobs including working at Logan Airport in Boston. Louie went on to start his own successful carpentry business which he was extremely passionate about. As an exceptionally hard worker and a proud business owner, Louie installed fully accessible disabled bathrooms for individuals with disabilities.

In 1968, Louie married Rose McCarthy of Cambridge, Massachusetts and went on to have two daughters, Christine Cardoza and Erica Cardoza. Louie also has a son, Joseph Sarno from a previous relationship. He married his second wife, Michelle Ventola in 1994 who has since passed. In 2022, he married his current wife, Debbie Tesnow.

Louie was an avid reader and enjoyed reading true crime novels as well as anything history related. He was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking for his family and friends. He had a great passion for creating beautiful wooden crafts such as birdhouses and was so talented at it. He loved music, enjoyed various television shows, such as Judge Judy, Court TV and The Real Housewives. Louie loved having fun family debates and was a fantastic storyteller!

He put his excellent carpentry skills to work by installing a raised, wooden deck in the backyard of his Medford, Massachusetts home. He also installed a truly magazine-worthy pond complete with koi fish and beautiful plants & flowers surrounding it. It was truly a sanctuary where he found peace along with grilling up a nice BBQ. He enjoyed traveling up and down the East Coast. Some of his favorites were the Florida beaches, seafood from Gloucester, Massachusetts, relaxation in Maine, as well as pizza from Bizarro’s down here in Indialantic, Florida. Louie really enjoyed the hot weather which ultimately led him to move to Melbourne, Florida.

Louie was predeceased by his parents Antonio Cardoso and Mary (Botelho) Cruz, Leonel Cruz, and his late wife Michelle Ventola.

He is survived by his daughters Christine Cardoza and Thomas (partner), Erica Cardoza and Sonny (partner); his son Joseph Sarno & Lindsay (wife); granddaughters Alyssa and Leigha Sarno; his sisters Rosemarie Carvalho (Victor), Linda Byrne and Kevin (partner) and Grace Tucci (Michael); his wife Debbie as well as his nieces & nephews Linda Jean Rawlings (Carvalho), Danny Carvalho, Amanda Porter (Byrne), Joe Byrne, Spencer Tucci, Samantha Jones (Tucci), Benjamin Tucci and other family members.
