William Eugene Lowry

William Eugene Lowry was born March 10, 1936. The beloved husband of Diane Richardson Lowry, he went into the arms of the Lord at the age of 87 on January 1, 2024. He fought pancreatic cancer for a very short time and was cared for by the wonderful people at Vitas Hospice House in Rockledge.

He was the son of Gerald Everett Lowry and Pauline Doris Noggle; brother of James C. Secrest; father of Brett WK Archambeault, Tracey KL Archambeault, William D. Turner(Allison),Jennifer Perry (Jason) and Grandfather of Adam Perry, Haven, Wesley, Phoebe, and Iris Turner.

Bill loved his extended family and his blue eyes and face would light up every time he saw them.

Bill retired in 1975 from the Coast Guard after 21 years of service. He served proudly in Vietnam and earned a Purple Heart among other awards. He was most proud of the ships he served on especially the Eagle and the icebreaker of the Great Lakes, the Mackinaw.

He served at the Presbyterian Church of the Good Shepherd as an Elder, Choir Member and other areas in the service of God for 24 years. He attended Via de Christo #40. He was a member of Melbourne Masonic Lodge 143 (Past Master),York Rite, Azan Shrine, Past Patron of Eastern Star, American Legion and other military organizations.

A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Presbyterian Church of the Good Shepherd, 810 W. Florida Avenue. Melbourne, FL 32901.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Presbyterian Church of the Good Shepherd, in his name.

Diane and family - we will all miss that big teddy bear of a guy who had the infectious smile and big bear hugs.
