William Ted Marcinkiewicz

William Ted Marcinkiewicz, 68, of Cocoa Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on Feb. 17, 2022, while his loving family gathered around him.
Bill was born and raised in New Haven, Conn., and later moved to Cocoa Beach, Fla., where he lived just minutes from the sunny beach. Bill worked for FedEx for more than 30 years both in Connecticut and Florida.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Clarence and Faith Marcinkiewicz of New Haven.
He is survived by his daughter, Christa Elizabeth Spencer (Christopher) of Fayetteville, Ark.; sisters Claire Hoffman (William) of East Haven, Conn., and Patricia Scully (William) of Branford, Conn.; his nephews, William Hoffman (Marni) of Guilford, Conn., William Longley Jr. (Nicole) of Orlando, Fla., Michael Longley (Tara) of North Bradford, Conn., and Jeff Hoffman – deceased (Stephanie) of Madison, Conn.
Bill graduated from Richard C. Lee High School in New Haven in 1971. He was a long-time supporter of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and the Southern Poverty Law Center.
He loved international travel and took numerous trips to Europe, Asia and South America.
His family remembers Bill as a man who read widely, laughed easily and was generous with his family. He had a life-long love of baseball and enjoyed the intellectual challenges of game shows, quizzes and TV mysteries.
The family plans to hold a private gathering this summer to remember Bill and his life. They request that those who wish to express sympathy consider donating to the ACLU or Southern Poverty Law Center.
