Billie Carol Debesa
Billie Carol Debesa, a woman whose life was defined by an unwavering and fierce love for her family, passed away on December 22, 2025. Born on February 5, 1943, to Earl and Cleo (Carter) Hughes, Billie was an only child who dedicated her entire heart to the family she built.
For Billie, her children and her granddaughter were her world. Her daughter, Serena, was her constant, and Billie’s life was a testament to her devotion as a mother. She shared a deeply close bond with her late son, Patrick Earl Debesa; before his passing, they shared a cherished weekly tradition where Patrick would take her out for lunch, a time they both looked forward to and valued immensely.
Billie found a unique and magical joy in her role as a grandmother to Serena’s daughter, Elina Kiara Perez. Elina knew her affectionately as “Kee-ma,” and the two were inseparable in spirit. They shared a world built on laughter, movie marathons, and their favorite “secret” tradition—sneaking each other chocolates when no one was looking.
Billie was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Cleo; her beloved son, Patrick Earl Debesa; her cherished granddaughter, Elina Kiara Perez; and her dear cousin, Jane. There is a small comfort in the thought of Billie being reunited with her son and granddaughter, perhaps sharing a meal or a sweet treat once again.
Billie’s memory will be carried forward by her devoted daughter, Serena Debesa. She also leaves behind a large, tight-knit circle of cousins who were like siblings to her: Linda on her father’s side, and Skip, Terry, Dale, and Jodi on her mother’s side.
